Project Godzilla By Neoglow Designs

Postby Neo » Thu Jan 03, 2013 8:29 am

An old project that was never completed!

It started its major journey with Kicker SOLO X 12 and 2 x KX 1200.1 amplifier in 2010

First installation was attempted by the customer and then we tried to make it look good.
You can see the build log for that one here!

December 2010
http://www.neoglow.net/forum/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=32&t=129

Due to personal reasons the setup was uninstalled and another attempt by the customer was made to re install with bigger amp, better power etc... The project never materialized as Solo X 12 was not impressive to the customer anymore!

So lets see!

The previous enclosure for the solo X 12, this was built inside the car so taking it out is going to be fun!

We hope that ZX 650.4 is still working, seems like water spill on the top!

These are the places we are going to be working on!!!
Keep these images in mind so we get to see what happens in the end!

The doors will need serious sound proofing and dampening

Now for the actual build

We start the door panels first since its the easiest part of the project!

3 way front doors
3 inch, 6.5 inch and 8 inch!

Initial mock up! We decided against it!

Mean while in the Engine bay!

We try to fit the Mechman Alternator!
All is good except there is not a link arm to tighten the belt!

Plus new belt is required and different size plus groove! Great!

The good stuff

Power Bass Pro Audio Compression Horn Tweeters
L-3H

Image

Power Acoustik Mid range driver 6.5 inch for the front doors
PR-654N

Image

Image

Power Bass Mid Bass driver 8 inch for the front doors
4XL-80-94

Image

Image

SoundStream 6x9 full range driver for the trunk
SME 694

Image

Image

What the heck is this? What would go in there? What about rear seats?

Image

Image

Image

Door dampening coming up along well! Hope our sound proofing techniques work here as well.

With almost 440W RMS power per door there is going to be a lot of vibrations!

Image

Image

Image

Image

It was decided to close/seal the 8 inch mid bass driver for improving SQ and power handling!
